Landscape imagery challenges me to make art that transcends observational study. My body of work draws on experiences from my personal life and contemporary issues with ideas reflecting on the evolution of time, sense of place and condition of the landscape. Once the narrative idea is conceived, I work from drawings, oil sketches, memory, photography and imagination using classical compositional devices and traditional materials. I find it satisfying to make statements, which provoke dialogue.
